Conifers

Conifers are woody plants in the coniferous division, usually evergreen, covered with needle-shaped, linear or scaly leaves called conifers. Conifers are usually trees or, more rarely, shrubs. Conifers are mainly found in the northern hemisphere. There are around 400 species categorized as conifers. The best known conifers are represented by widely distributed large trees from the genera: pine, spruce, fir and larch, which constitute which vast forest areas called coniferous forests.
